The High Coast, with its dramatic landscapes, deep forests and crystal clear waters, offers a unique experience for anyone who loves the free life on the road. Exploring this part of Sweden is a great way to get close to nature while maintaining the flexibility and comfort of your motorhome or caravan. Here's your guide to making the most of your time on the High Coast, focusing on finding the best pitches for an unforgettable holiday.
When you plan accommodation for your trip to High Coast, it is important to consider site facilities and its location in relation to the region's attractions.
Amenities are key: Search for pitches or camping that offer the facilities that are important to you, be it electricity connections, access to clean water, or Wi-Fi. Many pitches in the High Coast offer excellent facilities that make your stay both comfortable and pleasant.
Nearby attractions: Choose a pitch that gives you easy access to the High Coast's many attractions. If you are interested in hiking, look for places near Skuleskogens National Park or Höga Kustenleden. For a cultural experience, consider pitches near the historic fishing villages or the Wolf Islands.
Skuleskogens National Park: A pitch near Skuleskogens National Park offers immediate access to some of the most spectacular hiking trails in the region, including the view from Slåttdalsskrevan. It is a perfect location for nature lovers who want to explore the park's unique flora and fauna.
Hoga Kustenbron: A pitch with a view of the Höga Kustenbron provides not only a fantastic view but also easy access to both the northern and southern parts of the Höga Kusten. The bridge is a symbol of the area and a must for all visitors.
Ulvö Islands: For a unique archipelago experience, choose a mooring that gives you the opportunity to easily take a boat out to the Ulvöarna. These islands offer a mix of beautiful scenery, historical sights and relaxed activities such as fishing and kayaking.
From Roth: Lovers of the sea should consider a pitch near Rotsidan, known for its smooth cliffs and calm waters. It is an ideal place to enjoy sunsets, swimming and picnics by the water.
Book in advance: During peak season, pitches can fill up quickly, so plan ahead to secure your spot.
Respect nature: Höga Kusten is an area with great biological diversity and natural beauty. Be sure to follow the principles of "Leave No Trace" by keeping both camping and pitches clean and minimize your impact on the environment.
Explore locally: Use your time at the campsites to explore local attractions and experience the local culture. Visit local markets, try regional delicacies and take part in the activities and events on offer.
Exploring the High Coast from pitches offers a unique freedom to experience this magnificent part of Sweden on your own terms. With the right preparation and an open mind, you can look forward to a trip filled with adventure, relaxation and unforgettable memories!
